An official fee must be paid at the same time when an examination request is filed. In other words,
You could not defer the payment of the official fee when you file the examination request . But a half of official fee would be refundable by abandoning the application.

For your information: The temporal examination request system (April 2009 ~ March 2012) has expired, that the examination request needs not to be filed together with payment of official fee.
